It is my great honor to announce that the Honorable Chet Edwards and the Honorable Lyndon L. Olson, Jr. have endorsed my candidacy for the Texas House of Representatives.
Congressman Chet Edwards represented Waco and McLennan County in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1991 to 2011. He also represented us in the Texas Senate from 1983 to 1991. Congressman Edwards was on the vice presidential shortlist in 2008. While serving us in the Texas Senate, Congressman Edwards served on the Health and Human Resources Committee, chaired the Senate Nominations Committee, the Texas Sunset Commission, and the Texas Election Code Revision Committee. During his tenure in the Texas Senate, Texas Monthly named him as one of the “Ten Outstanding Legislators”.

Ambassador Lyndon Olson served as the United States Ambassador to the Kingdom of Sweden from 1998 to 2001. Ambassador Olson also represented Waco and McLennan County in the Texas House of Representatives from 1973 to 1979 and during that time served as Chairman of the Higher Education Committee. A graduate of Baylor University, Ambassador Olson serves as Chairman-Elect of the Baylor Scott and White Healthcare System and Chairman of the Board of the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas, Texas. He was also appointed by both a Republican and Democratic Governor as the Chairman and a Member of the Texas Board of Insurance.
Congressman Edwards and Ambassador Olson are truly two of the most distinguished public servants in McLennan County. They have both mentored and supported me in this campaign for the Texas House of Representatives.
It is time that we elect a representative who is trained by, supported by, and endorsed by public servants of this magnitude. It is absolutely an honor for me to call them my friends and I will certainly be relying on their advice and counsel if I am elected to represent this community on November 8, 2022, to the Texas House of Representatives.
Please join Congressman Chet Edwards and Ambassador Lyndon Olson and vote for Erin Shank for the Texas House on November 8, 2022. We can do this. We must do this because we absolutely deserve to once again be represented by a representative that we can be proud of in the Texas House of Representatives.
