Fighting Voter Suppression in TX

Texas Republicans are trying to silence your voice. After the 2020 census, the Republicans in Austin drew the House District lines here in Waco to make sure our historically Hispanic and African American neighbors in East and South Waco would not be represented by Waco’s Representative in the Texas House of Representatives. This racial gerrymandering racially divides Waco and is bad for Waco because we do not have a united voice for Waco in the Texas House.  These aren’t just lines on a map; they’re barriers designed to keep power in the hands of a few and strip away the representation that all of Waco deserves. This is not right. This hurts our Democracy.

I believe that every Texan, regardless of race, should be represented by someone who lives in their community,  understands their struggles, and fights for their needs. We must stop the Republican agenda of suppressing votes. We need leaders who will expand voting access—whether it’s early voting, mail-in voting, or making Election Day more accessible. I pledge to do just that.

Gerrymandering is just one part of the Republican playbook. They are also pushing for laws that limit mail-in voting, which in Texas is only allowed for our elderly, disabled, and very pregnant voters along with those who will be out of the county on election day - college students and active duty soldiers!.   We can’t let them get away with this. Your vote and your voice matters. Let’s ensure that they are protected. You can read more about my stance on this crucial issue here and get other important information about how to register to vote here.

This fight requires all of us. Your support today will help us reach more voters and ensure that every voice is heard. Please consider donating $25 or whatever you can to support our campaign. With your help, we can push back against these attacks and ensure a fairer, stronger Texas for all.

Thank you for standing with me.

Candidate for Texas House of Representatives, District 56
