President Biden And Kamala Harris

I was sitting in my home, talking to a Baylor student who aspires to become an attorney, when I received the news that President Biden had decided to cease his re-election bid and formally endorse our current Vice President, Kamala Harris, as the Democratic nominee for President of the United States.

I am absolutely humbled and honored to be a candidate on the November 5th ballot here in McLennan County with Vice President Kamala Harris at this incredibly historic time for our nation and the State of Texas. 

Women’s issues are on the ballot on November 5th and we now have the strongest voice for women’s rights running for President of the United States. Kamala Harris is a respected attorney, experienced candidate, and passionate leader.

The alternative, Donald Trump, is an absolute threat to American Democracy.

The Republican platform, outlined in Project 2025, is devastating for women’s rights. We live in a state in which women are literally dying, becoming infertile or extremely ill with non-viable pregnancies because we have no exceptions for the life of the mother, the health of the mother, rape, incest or for disabled girls.

This is barbaric, this is not Christian. Our rights to contraception, family planning, IVF and emergency birth control are also at risk. 

Project 2025 also plans to abolish the Department of Education. In Texas, the voucher scam is also a massive threat to public education. The voucher scam is not just about sending money to kids already attending public schools. It is a huge step towards their ultimate goal of shifting our public schools to be owned by millionaires who will reap huge financial profits at the expense of our children. Our public schools educate 95% of Texas’ children, including the vast majority of special needs children, and their future is on the ballot in November.

Kamala Harris is the strongest advocate in America today for the rights of women and children. She will fight against these threats. I am so proud to support and endorse our first female President who I know will fight for our women and children. She also will fight to save our Democracy at this time when it is so gravely in peril.

I have spent four decades representing Texans - from all races, religions, genders, and  political parties - in Texas courtrooms. I am one of the most senior attorneys in McLennan County and have been honored by my peers to be elected for three terms on the Board of Directors of the McLennan County Bar Association. I am ready, willing and the most experienced candidate running to represent you in the Texas House, where our laws are made.
